The FAA wants pilots to tell it when an automated weather station goes silent or starts reporting numbers that don't match the sky. Under the idea, problems with AWOS and ASOS could be sent in through an online form that anyone can use. For owners flying into fields where the automated station is the main weather source for the approach, this gives them a direct way to report it to the agency. Whether the form helps depends on the people who fly past these stations taking the time to use it.
