Texas From a Comanche Window Is AVweb's Picture of the Day

AVweb's Oct. 12 photo feature is a Texas landscape shot through the side glass of a Piper Comanche. The airplane is a piston single, so the frame is the kind of low-and-slow look at the ground that most readers of this title left behind when they moved up to pressurized equipment. There is no cabin window shade or flight-level haze between the camera and the terrain, just the Comanche's window and the state below it. For an owner whose usual view of Texas is from the flight levels on the way to somewhere else, it is a reminder of what the place looks like when the airplane is close enough to see it.
