Rotor operators with business in Indianapolis will keep a place to land. The FAA has pulled back the sign-off it had earlier given for shutting down the city's heliport, which means the facility stays in service. The agency pointed to commitments the field carries under federal rules and to what the region's aviation users will require in the years ahead. For owners who base or stage helicopters in the Midwest, the practical result is that an urban landing site that had been headed for closure remains on the chart.
