Close Company in California Skies

AVweb's photo of the day comes from the California International Airshow and shows aircraft flying in formation. Owners will see the skill in it right away: several airplanes holding position on each other with only a few feet between them, at a show where precision is the main thing on display. Holding tight station on another aircraft is hard to do well, and anyone who has held a heading and altitude in rough air will know what that picture took.

With reporting from AVweb.
