Coral Gables Makes Its Case at $148 Million, With a Chapel and the Bay at the Door
At $148 million, a waterfront compound in Coral Gables is aiming for a number the neighborhood has never seen. Locally, the city's top-dollar addresses tend to get described in terms of Palm Beach and Naples. This one sets its own mark. The property runs 245 feet along the water, about the length of a city block, and that is the measure Coral Gables people care about first. Biscayne Bay is right at its edge, so the boat goes out from home and you skip the marina. There is also a guesthouse, so visiting family can stay close by and still have their own place. And there is a chapel on the grounds. That is rare even here, and it suggests a house built around ceremony and quiet. If the price holds, Coral Gables will have a new top number for its waterfront.
