The Most Palm Beach Thing About BMW's Armored 7 Series Is That You'd Never Know

BMW has built a prototype 7 Series with armor in it, and the whole idea is that no one looking at the car would guess. The sedan keeps its ordinary face while the hardening stays out of sight, a brand of understatement that reads better on Worth Avenue than on Ocean Drive. Miami would want the armor visible, Naples would want it mentioned over dinner, and Palm Beach would prefer the subject never come up at all. For now it remains a concept, which is to say the car is making a quiet case rather than an announcement.
