Jane Fonda Was Only a Tenant, but the Whitley Heights House Still Carries Her Name at $2 Million
A house in Whitley Heights, up in the Hollywood Hills, has come to market asking $2 million, and its most famous occupant never held the deed. Jane Fonda leased the place across two chapters of her life, first as the wife of Roger Vadim, the French director, and later as the wife of Tom Hayden. Renting rather than owning did nothing to dim the association; the listing leads with her, and so does everyone else. For a Florida reader, the price is the part worth lingering on. Two million is a figure Naples would call sensible, Palm Beach would call an opening position, and Miami would call a down payment on a view of the water. In the Hollywood Hills, it buys a hillside address with a genuine screen pedigree, which is its own kind of waterfront.
