Sixty-Six Stakes for Gulfstream's Winter, With Two Pegasus Grade Is and the Florida Derby Leading

Gulfstream Park has set out the shape of its Championship Meet, and the count comes to sixty-six added-money races. Three Grade I events stand above the rest of the program. Two of them carry the Pegasus name: the World Cup Invitational on the main track and its companion, the Pegasus World Cup Turf Invitational, both presented by EquiTrack. The third is the Florida Derby, also carrying the EquiTrack banner this season. For South Florida, this is the stretch of the calendar when the sport's attention turns to Hallandale Beach, and the Pegasus pair and the Derby are the days that fill the clubhouse and the paddock rail. Everything else on the list of sixty-six is built around them.
