Shedaresthedevil's First Foal, a Gun Runner Filly, Makes Her Debut at Belmont on Wednesday

The first of Shedaresthedevil's foals runs for the first time on Wednesday. Tinker Taylor, a 2-year-old filly by Gun Runner, is entered in the second race at Belmont, a $100,000 maiden special weight for juvenile fillies with a 1:43 p.m. Eastern post. Her dam won the Grade I Kentucky Oaks and is a daughter of Daredevil. That makes this filly the first test of what Shedaresthedevil passes on as a broodmare. The race is a mile with only one turn. That is a real ask for a first-time starter, with a long run to the bend and no second turn to gather herself. For a New York crowd that follows pedigrees from the sales ring to the track, there is one thing to watch Wednesday: an Oaks winner's first daughter by Gun Runner, making her first start.
