Keeneland Debut Puts Klaravich's Flameaway Filly Global Unrest on the Watch List
Global Unrest, a 2-year-old filly by Flameaway, made her first career start Saturday afternoon at Keeneland and came away with a "TDN Rising Star" designation from Thoroughbred Daily News. The race was a maiden contest on the grass at one mile. She races for Klaravich Stables. Her dam is Beautiful Memories, a daughter of Hard Spun, so the pedigree runs Flameaway on top and Hard Spun as broodmare sire. The detail that stood out was how much ground she gave away. She swung wide around the far turn and covered far more of the Lexington course than the fillies saving ground on the rail. To do that in a first start, on turf, at a one-turn-longer trip than many juveniles see early, is why this one is worth noting.
