The Tesla in the Garage Can Now Run the House

· 1 min read

Owners of the Model 3 and Model Y, the two cars that make up the bulk of Tesla's output, are gaining the ability to send power from the battery back into their homes. The capability arrives through an updated inverter that Tesla is phasing into production of the two models rather than introducing all at once. For an American driveway, it means the sedan or crossover parked outside doubles as a reserve of electricity for the house behind it.
