Saleen Opens the Order Book on the S1: A Refundable $1,000 Holds a Place

· 1 min read

Saleen is now taking reservations for the S1, its newest sports car. Holding a spot costs a $1,000 deposit, and the company will return that money to anyone who changes their mind. Pricing for the road-registered version of the car begins at $160,000, which puts a gap of more than a hundred times between the deposit and the price of the car itself. For collectors who follow American marques, a low, refundable deposit makes it easy to get in line early while the car is still new.
