Sotheby's Puts a $9 Million Estimate on a Rare Nanotyrannus Named "Jodi"

· 1 min read

Sotheby's is bringing a dinosaur skeleton nicknamed "Jodi" to auction with a $9 million estimate. The house says it is a Nanotyrannus, and that only two other examples of the animal are known to exist. That makes Jodi one of the rarest natural-history lots a collector could bid on. Collectors who follow fossils will be watching to see whether the bidding goes past that $9 million figure.
