New York Gets the First Half of a Two-City Carrington and Vicuña Pairing
Lehmann Maupin and Gallery Wendi Norris are joining forces on a single exhibition split across two cities. It brings together the work of Leonora Carrington and Cecilia Vicuña, two artists shown side by side under one project. The opening chapter arrives in New York in November. The second chapter then travels west to San Francisco, where it is scheduled to open in January. Two galleries, two artists, two coasts and two months make up the whole of the plan as it stands. For a New York audience, the appeal is simple: the conversation between these two bodies of work begins here before anyone else sees it.
