The Collector's Library: Eight Books by Artists Worth Owning

· 1 min read

The Collector has put together a reading list of eight books by well-known figures in art, running from Gombrich to Pollock. Each one has drawn real attention and given people in museums, galleries and studios something to talk about. That makes the list useful for anyone building a library alongside a collection, in New York or Palm Beach or anywhere a serious shelf sits near serious walls. The best case for any of these volumes is the plainest one: they let you hear how artists themselves think about the work.

With reporting from The Collector.
