The Desk Is Now the Most Photographed Room in the House

Architectural Digest has drawn up a list of nine retailers it trusts for office furniture that looks as good as the rest of a well-kept home. The premise is simple: the chair, the desk and whatever sits behind you on a video call are now on view to colleagues as surely as the front hall is to guests. For a Palm Beach or Beverly Hills household where the study was once the one room nobody saw, that changes what belongs there. The magazine's pick treats the home workspace as a matter of taste rather than function alone.
