Red Bottoms, Literally: Adéla Takes Los Angeles in Custom Louboutin
Some tour names are a metaphor. Adéla's turned out to be a dress code. On the Los Angeles stop of her "Red Bottoms Tour," the singer performed in a pair of Christian Louboutin boots made just for her: the Pavlova Botta bootie, finished in pink glitter that caught the stage lights from the first note. A tour named for red soles, with the singer in the house best known for them, makes the styling hard to miss. Custom means the pair was made for this wearer and this stage, not taken off a shelf. A bootie also has to do real work in a live set, so it has to look good under spotlights and still hold up through a full performance. In pink and sparkling, these did the job and made a show of it. Los Angeles has seen plenty of stage footwear, and a made-to-order Louboutin with a tour named after it is a good entry in the archive.
