Lihi Hod has planted her first store on American soil, and she chose New York to do it. The Israeli bridal designer, whose training came under John Galliano, opened the doors Monday and used the occasion to kick off New York Bridal Fashion Week. A fall 2027 collection came out the same day, so the inaugural guests saw the clothes before anyone else in the country. A line of scents arrived alongside the gowns, a first for the house. For a designer whose work had previously reached American brides from a distance, the shop puts the dresses within walking distance of the city's wedding season. It is a confident way to join the New York calendar.
