A Decade of Argent, Toasted Uptown With a Secretary of State at the Table

Ten years is a respectable run for any label, and Argent marked its own on Wednesday evening at Marcel, uptown. Founder Sali Christeson did the inviting, and the guest list read like the best kind of office party. Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton was there, as were Huma Abedin and Katie Couric. The theme of the night was work friends, which suits a house that has built its name on clothes for the workday. It is a fitting way to count a birthday: not by the collections, but by the company one keeps.
