Chicago's Next Chapter Comes Stitched From Its Archive
Graduates came back to the runway at the Driehaus Alumni Fashion Show, and the hemline pointed two ways at once: toward what Chicago design is becoming, and toward the work that brought it here. It's a familiar move to anyone who keeps an archive. You can't say where a city's style is going until you've looked at where it has been. An alumni show is a good place to make that point, because each name on the program is part of both the city's history and its future. Here at Who Wore What When, we keep the record of who wore what, and when, so a show that consults the record before writing the next entry is very much our kind of evening.
