Brooklyn Gets the Runway, Paris Gets the Screen

Telfar Clemens is back on the runway, and he chose Brooklyn for it. The designer staged his spring 2027 collection at a big-scale show in the borough. Paris was not left out, though it was asked to watch rather than attend. A livestream of the Brooklyn presentation, announced to the public ahead of time, was shown in the French capital as the show unfolded. The arrangement puts the clothes, the audience and the moment itself in New York, with the Paris crowd gathered around a screen. For a season that so often parcels out its attention across fashion capitals, the order of things here is clear. The collection walked in Brooklyn first, and everywhere else got to look on.
