The Artist Picks Up the Hosting Duties, and the Check Goes to Charm City

Derrick Adams has added a new line to a résumé that already runs across painting, sculpture and collage: benefit host. The artist gathered a small circle at Hav & Mar for the inaugural fundraising evening of Charm City Cultural Cultivation, the nonprofit he founded. The scale was deliberately modest, a dinner-party room rather than a ballroom, which for a first outing is often the smarter crown to wear. We will be watching to see whether the next one needs a bigger table.
