A New Door Opens for Up-and-Coming Independent Filmmakers

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon's company, Artists Equity, has started a division devoted to independent film, Variety reported. The new label is called Artists Equity Independent Pictures, and it is meant to give filmmakers who are just starting out a place to present their work. Variety reported the launch as an exclusive. For readers in Beverly Hills who follow the film business, the label gives rising filmmakers in independent cinema a new place to work.
