The American SetJohn Turturro Set to Receive Festival Honor in Miami This November
John Turturro, the Emmy-winning actor who also writes and directs, is the next recipient of the Creative Vanguard Award presented by Variety. The trade publication will hand him the prize during the GEMS program of the Miami Film Festival, which is run by Miami Dade College. The presentation is scheduled for a Monday in November. The award recognizes Turturro's body of work across acting, writing and directing, and it puts a familiar name from the Los Angeles screen community on a Florida stage for the occasion.
